Acceptance::   If acceptance does not work, a change of location can be tne answer.  I am not there at this point.   Stephen

Thank you for this.  You have: Thank you for this.  You have validated the poem for me.  Like you, I love the word "belief" in all of its forms, especially the way it is repeated throughout John's Gospel where it is attached, in splendid simplicity, to the assurance of Salvation.  Your comment has definitely given me more to think about---which is why I consider you to be my mentor.

"Making each version not less: "Making each version not less but more"—   You composed a very astute observation after stepping back and looking at the gospels as viewpoints in one grand vista. As Divine wisdom would have it, such a vast scope needed different vantage points flowing from four different channels in order to bring the unknowable through the "darkened glass" of human consciousness: to draw back the veil, personalize it for each of us.   I noticed at different points in my life, different "voices" in the Bible spoke to me in just the right way along my journey.    Before I read your notes, interestingly enough, I formed an instant opinion of your word choice: believability. I personally love the word "belief" because it not only has cadence but exactly the shade of meaning you needed for your analysis of God's word: a pure faith rather than a verdict based on concrete facts.    A succinct, insightful illumination of the Gospels.

Yes, especially as regards: Yes, especially as regards certain comments made recently at postpoems, lol.   And yes, I enjoyed writing the explanatory note much more than the poem itself.  Thanks for the very observant comment.

haha - appreciate that last: haha - appreciate that last note below your write (though, at such a young age, one could be forgiven anyway).   I do feel like we all, at certain moments, can learn from this set up. At certain times, we are each mere children on a topic, if that. Perhaps that is your message?

Listen to yourself :)   As a: Listen to yourself :)   As a piece of writing, I think this is a really worthwhile read for someone who is in the midst of a emotional segue between insecurity and being self secure. Even for someone who has crossed over to the other side, I think it's a worthwhile reminder not to slip back :)

I don't believe there is: I don't believe there is another time in history where this response would be widely accepted by the public. I'm careful to say "accepted" and not to say 'supported', though I do think many people support it - at least in general. But it appears that a lot of people feel pressured to support what is promoted as publically popular, due to cable television, social media, and the incredible reach that conformity has today, so it's hard to even know what "support" itself truly even means anymore.   I think your write raises a lot of fair questions, and certainly highlights the crippling effects of fear driven by the co-existing features of Uncertainty and Force. Is time on our side? I don't know. But I do wish for you, some how, some way, some peace of mind amidst this all.

Forgive me, because I'm not: Forgive me, because I'm not familiar with the Celebrity of Postpoems, but isn't everything written on the site open to public scutiny and opinion? We are lucky, whether it seems at moments for better or worse, to be in a place of public discourse. The realms are disappearing.   A beauty of sharing poetry, and facing critique, is that we must face the potential demons in our words. Maybe the demons are really ours, or perhaps they are projecting out of the reader - depending the content, maybe a bit of both - but none the less this is the price of poetic expression. Out of which, hopefully we all grow.

He Thinks He Knows Everything: Hey Stephen I like your writing and I thank you for all of your comments. I thank you for your Navy service.I also served in Navy from 1971 to 1977. It seems that other SCRIBELLER Poet has too much time to Judge and criticize. He thinks he,knows what's in everyone else's mind.In fact He knows everything. Infact everything he writes seems to be from someone else. He Inserts Himself in the matters of others just to show his own Judgement. Of course You and I both know Acceptance is the Answer.

I agree that it does seem to: I agree that it does seem to have a racial bias, but it is expressed in a metaphor derived from Boule's novel or the film(s) made from it?  I was merely inquiring about the metaphor.
