Friend Nor Foe

Time is neither friend nor foe,

It is measured only by perception.

That awkward moment that seems to last forever,

Or blissful days that sail past like the wind.

Its weight felt by those that have suffered too long,

Its swiftness known to those never having a chance.

Time is nothing more than the passing of life,

No surprise outcome, everything known at birth.

Time only allows us choices to make, the ones we live with,

Therein lies the worth of who we are.

To measure time, we must only take measure of ourselves,

It is there we will find true friend or foe.
