+ Sonnet On Saint Paul's Hymn To Love, 1 Corinthians 13

Love does not cause the flesh an injury.

Love does not seek the loved one's slavery,

nor deem a person as contracted chattel;

nor sear a brand into one's skin like cattle.

Love does not swagger in false dominance,

nor strut a lifestyle founded on pretence.

Love will not hurt the loved one (no, not once)

or bring them to painful experience.

Love can give the loved one full ecstasy

with causing a moment's agony.

But those who perpetrate such cruelty---

nor can abandon their misogyny---

will suffer, without slightest clemency,

Hell's fiercest tortures, for eternity.
