CRACKLING FOOTFALLS

Crackling footfalls upon crunchy dried leaves,

Fallen foliage of carmine, yellow and chocolate,

The autumn path covered with colored cadavers

The fallen remains of once green tree leaves

There I strolled aimlessly under cloudless sky

Those selfsame multi-hued leaves my daybed

An afternoon nap on a chilly afternoon in fall

A delicious antidote to melancholic emotions.
