@ 27.055 MHz: Ad Astra; The Star Uranian, Its Planet Charmidean [Repost]

" . . . spiritual intimacies live in the heart, they are

part of our eternal life, and reach beyond the stars."

---J. G. Nicholson, Romance Of A Choir Boy, XV

Speak, Musa Puerilis, of the Star they call Uranian,

and the planet that orbits it, bucolic Charmidean,

orbited by a sole moon, shimmering Chaeronea.

There, Philebus and others---Poets and Astronomers---

enjoy the constellated beauties that each prefers;

and no Haters' prejudice nor old prudes' panacea

intrude upon such delicate and exquisite pleasures---

recorded in the purest Poetry's resonant measures.

Of all this, speak---Musa Puerilis---my Beloved, J-Lore.

Starward

Author's Notes/Comments:

The fourth line alludes to Philebus, the pen name of J. L. Barford, 1886-1937, one of the finest of the so-called Uranian Poets and, in my opinion, their Dean.
