THE STAIN

She couldn't wash away the stain

It would never go away

She tried to scrub away the pain

But it was here to stay

What was once so pure and white

Was left tarnished by the mark

It would never leave her sight

For this stain was way too dark

She couldn't make it leave

No matter how hard she did try

She would never be set free

From the stain that made her cry

A red, red stain upon her soul

As if, she had been tattooed

She tried to take back her control

But the ink kept seeping through

You may never know the pain

That someone else does bear

You may not see their stain

But they always know it's there
