Let's Go Out Tonight...

Folder:
2006

The moon is bright, it's a beautiful night,

Let's go out tonight...

We could share a dance, maybe make some romance,

Let's give it a chance.

They say that maybe we're too young,

But that is only the night;

There's music to be made and songs to be sung

Before we say goodnight.

It may be cold, but we'll never grow old,

Even if our souls be sold...

Sometimes we must kick off the dust

And give in to our lust.

They say that only the good die young;

Well, maybe they're right,

But there's music to be made and songs to be sung

Before we say goodnight.

Baby, the moon is bright, it's a beautiful night,

What do you say we go out tonight?

We could share a dance, and maybe make some romance, yeah...

Baby, give it a chance.

They say that maybe we're way too young,

But I don't think they're right,

Because there's music to be made and songs to be sung

Before we kiss goodnight...

Let's go out tonight...

Author's Notes/Comments:

This is ANOTHER song that came to me from a poem, but THIS one started out as a song from the very beginning: more of a 50s-style jazz/blues/swing tune, reminiscent of The Rat Pack, Bobby Darin, and the like. This was actually a joint effort with me and a girl who simply choose to go by "Norma Jean". It simply came to her one night, and we developed it from there. Please tell me what you think about this one...as a song or otherwise.
