Patience Is The Present

Son,‘pon our conversation past

Of mush conveyed o’er the phone,

Of tense concerns work related

Causing loved ones in angst to moan,

I spend in mind noble crystal

And gazed at light it reflected

Thus read the words I spoke out loud

When wisdom was interjected.

You offered a present to your wife

Wrapped in patience and trimmed in thought

True love shall wait to bear this out

That it has found what it has sought

But beware in experience

You may have had something backward

For patience may be the present

And the gift is just the wrapper.
