Through Flickering Doubt

This onus upon us

Of discretion to bear

Of biting the tongue

At words of despair

Of feigning a smile

Through flickering doubt

Of a winnowing wick

As the candle burns out

Is an opus to focus

‘pon God’s paradigm perk

His most pleasant peace

In his paramount work.
