You're all I need to get by

My heart turned black.

I grew to be vile and cold.

As I grasped at thin air;

In search of a hand to hold.

But there was no one there.

I could feel myself begin to fold.

Still grasping at thin air;

Searching for a hand to hold.

In frustration I tore out my hair;

And I began to cry;

Until I couldn’t see from my red, blood shot eyes.

But then you took me by surprise,

When I felt your hand in mine.

I become hypnotized

by the comforting golden blue of your eyes.

You kiss my forehead softly;

As you tell me not to cry.

And whisper to me that everything will be fine.

You wrap your arms around me

And I realize;

You’re all I need to get by.
