Sitting in a Corner

Folder:
2002

Sitting in a corner with cap and sunglasses
To hide the hurt, sorrow, and tears.
Blue water of the pool
Ignorant, naïve of the
Stains and struggles of life
Which its guests bring,
Slaps the sides, dancing
In fountains of joy and play.

Alone in the crowd of kids
Absorbing the shock of the moment
In the middle of celebration with
Secluded heart.

Music of falling water and children’s
Laughter send sound waves of joy to my soul.
Knocking…Knocking

No one answers

The life-giving muscle
In the center of my being
Cringes with stricken grief and pain.
Lies march toward the wounded heart…
Screaming…pointing the sharp
Accusing finger.
“You failed!”
“You failed!”
“Nyah, nyah!”
“Shame and dishonor have been
brought to everything
loved and touched!”

King and Truth rise on the praises of His children.
My soul reaching out to be
Carried away to the Throne on the Winds of Worship
Seeking mercy, love, and forgiveness for His child.
