Night Colors

Folder:
2007

It is night
The colors are dark
And sounds are dark
Except for one.
Into your hand
Which reflects the moon’s brightness
Lands the Glass-Winged Butterfly.

The silence between you
Is the vision through her iron welding.
You can put your fingers to these bars
That are heavy from her flights.
Though you can but only see
The picture in a heavenly blur.
For eyes that are unaccustomed,
There...are the rest of the colors
And the meanings of the healing
That she brings to you tonight.

All the colors that intensely shone,
But never seen,

All the colors that were pressing in on all sides,
But never felt,

All the colors that ever were,
But never known,

Brought forth, drawn out by Desert Angel,
Holder of love and light, bearer of divine palette.

Given to those enduring the
Rough draft of life in the visible.
From the other side of her wings,
With the pure love of her heart, she blesses
With all the colors that dance with the music of rainbows,
Rainbows that dance in the whispers of clouds,
Clouds which dance upon the current of angels’ wings,
Angels who bow humbly at the foot of the throne
     Where sits the One
          Who shed the tear
               From heaven to the earth.
