SECOND THOUGHT!

SECOND THOUGHT!

Disenchanted by the happenings and realizing my precarious situation, I thought I could make way to the disgruntled people who were close on my heels.  But then, the decedents thought, they had every claim to be so, to realize their agenda.  Though it was a stygian situation, I thought I could renege and compromise a bit.  My stoicism thawed my steely nerves and I was ready to feign as if nothing had happened.

In the proceedings, I thought, I should be out of blocks in no time so that I could put an end to every speculation.  All of a sudden, my pretention to put up a recreant face and to oblige others' request vanished.  Instead, a tirade speech shot off my tongue.  In a hissy-fit, I decided to take back my words and continue further with a new policy.

The bad intention to coax and persuade me terribly failed; for they thought, they had had a chance to undermine me!  Those who tried to tarnish my image had to leave and the ones who had been waiting on the sideline had to take up their places.  Just at the nick of time my conscience guided me to take a ‘U’ turn to reassure myself that I was doing just the right thing.  I got convinced and acted at once!  If not I would have scummed to pressure and resigned.  Just then, somewhere from the corner of my mind, I heard the faintest of the voice telling me not to surrender but to fight it out to realize a common cause!  After all, it's professional jealousy!

Author's Notes/Comments:

At times, hasty decisions make one give up easily without giving it a second thought.  But it's not good to surrender without fighting it out to realize a common cause.  When  there are people to pull the rug under your feet due to professional jealousy, you got to think and act without making any hasty decision.

Mr. Bishu,

'Poets never die'. Their poetic creations live for ever!  Hence, there is no chance one forgets a poet like you or a refined gentleman like you.  I need to pick a lot of good qualities from you.  Thanks.
