PRAISES AND CURSES!

PRAISES AND CURSES!

I doubt my invitation to you;

Yet, you've come to greet me still!

I feel quite refreshed but so guilty;

For your presence is just your choice!

Just as you grace, irrespective of our deeds,

You soften up expanse of lands as well as minds;

So comfortable we feel; yet we're so jealous and lethargic,

To acknowledge the benefactors whose coffers you fill.

No matter how humans reciprocate your goodness,

Least bothered you are, but still keep giving them in full!

Our thirst you quench and physique you drench; and

As you downpour we reap a heavenly harvest.

We name you 'Rain', 'Shower' and 'Downpour',

Curse you when you 'over-do' causing havoc;

But then, we thank you instantly when you put off a dry spell!

Oh!  We are yet to take a leaf out of you.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Benefits of rain enjoyed by both 'good and bad' simultaneously.  No partiality or prejudice shown by rain as everyone reaps the harvest irrespective of their deeds.  Nevertheless, we praise and curse rain as per our advantages and disadvantages.  But 'The Rain' is impartial in its approach and we've got to take a leaf out of it, to be impartial.

Rain rain rain beautiful post Mr Respected Raj

Rain rain rain beautiful post Mr Respected Raj.

Wish you all the best so that you get wet

Rain falls equally for everyone-prince or pauper.

If it weren't for rains the umbrella industry wouldn't have come up.

Cab fares are higher during when it rains.....

If it were not for rains Act One of Pygmalion wouldn't be made Smile
