FRIGHTFUL, BUT FRAGILE!

FRIGHTFUL, BUT FRAGILE!

Perception brings insight into mind;

Nevertheless it gives vent to imaginations of all sorts!

Its pretext seems to think holy, wily, and silly!

However it scuttles; it finds no concrete clues!

So scary the mind as it loses its only ethnic hope;

As it oscillates and settles in no place to rest!

Imagines as if the foamy clouds are just ghosts!

And the setting sun as the one-eyed blazing ball!

Oh! The mighty sun is sunk in the west!

And the twilight looks ever so pale in the horizon!

No one dares to stay; as they are destined home!

Oh, No! The world looks so dark and jet black!

While cats and owls make noise in fright;

 Dogs exhaust themselves barking at night!

‘All happiness and merry-making’ is out of place;

As the wily foxes howl along with screeching bats!

So scary it is, as no one is near to enliven the mind!

The distress prolongs and finds nowhere to stop.

Human beings are perceived to be chained and dragged in haste!

Yet, before it is dawn, everything is gone; and the mind gets back to its normalcy!

No ghost; no scare and no frightening scenes!

No howling, no screeching and no such barking!

It’s all just hallucination and a bad mind set!

That transforms our thinking into fearful; but fragile sights!

Author's Notes/Comments:

It's about the mind and the way it perceives fearful sights at night due to hallucination! Once the day dawns, everything becomes normal and the frightening things gone!

Much effort put in this post Ben Sir

Much effort put in this post Ben Sir.It was a pleasure reading... though it took me quite some time to get the feel of it. You discuss unseen optical illusions from a tired/frightened mind. Just error in sparks amidst the neurons(I feel) Darkness does create horror images in the mind. Some nights seem much too long.. .. At these times a loved one beside a tormented person is encouraging and the unseen warm glow drives away crazy thoughts.

Love and affection are medicine(I feel) A bout of love-talk /love-making or even indulging in nostalgic memories with a loved one is a very nice feeling. These help to focus Sir (in my humble view)

Your poem 'Knock' was instrumental in making me write this poem.  The fright that one gets during sleep and the thought that transforms into different shapes is awful and dreadful at times.  Hence the thought and the poem.  Thanks for your comment Mr. Bishu.

Oh, Ben!! I like this one.

Oh, Ben!! I like this one. Very deeply thought out, and your vocabulary used was really more advanced than some other poems of yours I have read. ...(but I still love them all!)

...and he asked her, "do you write poetry? Because I feel as if I am the ink that flows from your quill."

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "

Nightlight!
I thought you took a breather to read and comment on my poem! Nevertheless, as usual you have inspired me by your valuable comment and by stressing on the importance of using good vocabulary. Thanks.
