The Longing Poem

I love to fall a fool for you

Like boulders leaping off a cascading cliff

Diving into a ravine of temptation

How desperate am I to wrap my arms around your

Warmth and feel the elusive love in your heart

The morning sun reveals your shadows on the walls

I open bottles of your scent like Zoloft

I rejoice to hear your voice in my dreams

The day your hand rests in mine will never come

But my mind remains attached

It may seem mad to some

But they must not know your magic

Even to only know it in my delusions

Is better than anything this world could ever offer
