Daddy

Daddy

For years we've watched you suffer
Slowly losing part of you
Each day wanting to take the pain
But some things we can't undo

Daddy you know we love you
And that will never change
Because you raised us in Gods love
In a world that seems so strange

All our past memories
Are the things we'll never lose
So please don’t worry dad
Our futures we can not choose

Daddy, this is how I know
You taught me what love really is
I would take your place right now
But that’s my will not His

I know you would not want me to question
Whatever God has planned for you
Forgive me Dad, I'm selfish
Even though He will help us through

Many times within this life
We've all been tested before
Though I know He has His reasons
This hurts me to the core

Because through every trial
You've been there to hold my hand
Thinking of life without you....
I'm sorry Dad, please understand

I know we're just beginning
Again it seems from the start
But Daddy, never forget
You're forever in my heart

I really enjoyed this one, sad and beautiful :)

"I am my own sort of strange, a supernova of madness and brillance. Forced to share the same space and time. Sane enough to not be seen, yet not crazy enough to be heard." -- Matthew Wayne
