Dear God

Where are you?

I’ve been looking for you everywhere.

You’re neither here, nor there.

I’ve been travelling to every land,

but I just don’t understand.

I’ve been flying in aeroplanes above,

looking for you to get my love.

I’ve been crying all those tears,

searching for you all these years.

Where are you?

I’ve been travelling on the sea,

but still you can never come to me.

I’ve been looking for your blessing,

just to hear a personal addressing.

Where are you?

I’ve been in the forests and the field,

looking for my personal shield.

I’ve been looking on the street,

hoping you’d be the one there to meet.

Where are you?

I’ve been to all the clubs and bars,

searching for you, past the moon and stars.

I’ve been walking in the sun and rain,

hoping you’d be there to share my pain.

Where are you?

And now I’ve realised,

that maybe I’ve been looking in all the wrong places,

been looking at all the wrong faces,

because you could never be here

Not when you couldn’t share my fear.

Not when you couldn’t share my pain,

you could never be in the rain.

You could never be found

because you just weren’t around.

Not in the sky,

because then you’d never hear me cry,

Not in the sea,

then you could never really be with me.

The only place you could be,

is here, right within me.
