I can forgive the voracious, marauding sense
of your ill-chosen, clumy words.  But experience
has taught me I can have no confidence
in you.  Stay at arm'a length, an invisible fence.

I believe I should clarify:  this poem is an imitation of Cunningham's style, but is not directed at him.  He was a poet I admire beyond words; his poetry taught me to rhyme properly.
