That Englishmen are Princes of Wales

has always seemed, to me, a bit gnarly:

the concept so contemptibly fails
with this one---their bonnie prince Charlie.

Author's Notes/Comments: 

From a Latin quatrain by Seryddwr; the prince referred to was Charles Edward Stuart, who had been deposed by the Glorious Revolution.  At least that is what they tell me.
