Your Light

As I sit and think,

of the wrongs I've done.

I finally realize my goals,

will never be won.

Alone in the darkness,

I will stay.

To never again,

see the light of day.

The weight I feel,

I can hardly bare.

The more I fight it,

the more I start to tear.

As the pain swells,

there's nothing I can do.

But as I sit here,

I begin to think of you.

You let me see my wrongs,

but won't let me mope.

And I relook at my goals,

with a full and renewed hope.

You bring light,

into my dark and lonely day.

and let me see,

where there's a will there's a way.

You lift the weight;

I'm sure more than you dare.

This simple kindness,

let's me know you care.

I thank you,

from the depths of my heart.

And hope you know what you do,

whether we're together or apart.

How you feel about me,

I really don't know.

All I can think about

is will you stay or will you go.

Whatever happens, I'm sorry,

but you will have to choose.

At the end of all this,

will I gain or will I lose.

Will we be friends or a little more,

I can't wait to see.

But no matter what happens,

we will just let it be.

Whatever the outcome,

I'll always be there.

And do my very best,

to show you how much I care.
