More About Me

What I want you to know about me...

Hi, I’m a animal scientist with a PhD in veterinary microbiology, epidemiology and bioinformatics. My research involved investigating how whole genome sequencing and bioinformatics can be used to detect the genetic basis of antimicrobial resistance in livestock associated enteric infections (E coli, Salmonella and Campylobacter). However I have now started my own tutoring business catering almost exclusively for students with learning difficulties. To supplement my own experience and knowledge I am also doing a Master of Education with a major focus on working with students on the spectrum.

But I write poetry and critiques in my spare time (precious as it is!) I have noticed recently that people have been blatantly plagiarising my work on here. I set this account up primarily to share my love and enthusiasm for poetry. So whilst I do not do this for an income (obviously) I would appreciate if you would attribute the work accordingly. Especially so I can join in on the conversation with any conflicting view points! Thank you.

My other interests include but are not limited to animal behaviour & welfare, biological science, bushwalking, cinema, classical literature, cricket, High Renaissance & Impressionist art, music especially Blues, marine reef keeping, Scrabble, theatre & live performance and winery tours.

About My Navel

Not sure about this. Clues are starting to fall like dew from my tangled web of ideas against the velvet darkness of confusion lit by the waxing moon of understanding. Soon I feel, I shall be able to answer this question, but not just yet.

Favorite Stuff (poets, poems, quotes, hobbies, etc.)

Attitude is Everything.

The longer we live the more we realise the impact of attitude on life.
Attitiude is more important than facts.
It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than families, than successes, than what other people see or do.
It is more important than appearance, physical strength or skill.
It will make or break a company, a church...a home.
The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitiude we will embrace for that day.
We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.
We cannot change the inevitable.
The only thing we can do is decide what our attitude will be.

Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it.
Our attitude is the most vulnerable part of our existence, it is the *only* part of our existence over which we have total control.

Our attitiude is everything!
