Gray and Blue

Folder:
Charcoal Sun

I awoke one day to an alien world.
I first noticed the frigid air
my yawning exhale was like that of smoke.
Skin, numb and shivering.
My feet quickly found the floor as I sought the nearest window.
I found horror in the greyed, colorless landscape meeting tired eyes.
The sun was silver.
The people outside,
shades of their former selves.
Stick figures topped with paper faces
each of them bearing still, eerie, wide eyed grins.
They noticed my gaze and stopped to look at me.
Staring and pointing.
A voice spoke through the grey
When you spend your days dying, do not be surprised to one day awake, and find yourself dead.
The window shone my reflection,

my eyes were swept of their pigments.
The greys began to infect the rest of me, slowly melding me to this realm.
I ran to the door

then to the one leading outside.
Firmly grasping the knob and flinging it open

I stepped out.
Gravity reversed itself

and I fell into the sky.
Splashing through layers upon layers
until crashing into a passing comet.
After picking myself up, I came to find some solace atop its streaking trail.
Rubbing eyes, still half asleep, I looked down and saw
what resembled my beloved Terra
devoid of any character of hues.
Pale
Empty
Motionless
A single tear wetted my cheek
and plucked it before it fell off.
resting atop the tip of my finger
I brought it close
and saw that it was blue.

Oh I love this!!!   Never

Oh I love this!!!

Never leaving us completely,

We are Terra, and terra is what we are,

And to try to escape, or imagine it is not so,

Is what insanity is.

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "

Thank you light bright (I tend to give my own nicknames)

This was a strange vision that fell upon me.

It felt as though it should have been a REM dream but I saw it with waking eyes inside my essence.

It was fun to write and even more so to be honored with views and shared thoughts.

A thousand thank yous for your reaction.

Your warming touch is enough to melt spoons... hahaha

Revive me please, for I am a pile of putty in your gaze.

Thanks for the smile my dear : D
