I Wish I Had Other Artistic Skills

Drawing a straight line ruins my day

as the attempt causes the fingers to cramp

and the mind to bend. Some are born

to draw straight lines. I admire those skilled

enough to free-hand draw an absolutely

perfect circle.

I looked at some acryllics once and wondered,

"What do those do?" Finger painting was my thing

in elementary school. I colored with crayolas

pretty good there for a few years. Then, I met

my first paint brush and some paper and almost

got expelled from school. For life.

There is no moral to this tale, no wisdom to extract.

I also wish I could play a piano, bass, flute, drums,

and tambourine. No rhythm for such things so I

won't be forming my own garage band. Ever.
