Ode To Money

Vintage Words

I sing a song of fifty dollars

a sizeable enough wad for a song.

I give it to a grocery store

who likes it green and long.

I enjoy the song of twenty five cents

that used to be a penny. Now I buy

half a candy bar with fifty cents

or else I won't get any.

I fondly sing the ditty of a twenty

and hope the price is fair

I pass the crisp and geenish bill

to vanish everywhere.

This is a simple song of dough

and scratch and the mighty ever

fivers. I work hard for money

and spend it generously on whatever

it delivers.
