If someone, anyone had told me

it was all make-believe and that I

should pretend to like everyone

I meet until they prove they do not

like me at all, then I would have

had so many lasting friendships.

Instead, I concentrated on their ill

will toward me.


If  someone, anyone had said trust

no one to be faithful all the time,

love them unconditionally, and

tell them they are trusted, I would

not have difficulty learning to

appreciate human unkindness. Then,

I could have defined friendship as

I've seen people do horrendous things to people and still they are loved by those they harmed. I don't have one of those. Both of my cheeks are busy.
