Stitches

Folder:
Vintage Words

.

Stitches are like devining

rods that will lead you

to water.

.

Stitches are spirts who

have never left us or

who survive as memories

that attach themselves

to the living.

.

Stitches are mountainous

or valleyed bonded to a

knitting needle held

by skilled hands enriched

with practice and ready

to pass the secret of

the pattern to small

hands.

.

Stiches are a circle disguised

as a map between spring rain

and winter rain. To the unseeing

it is a length of yarn made

of left over you.
