January Promise

Folder:
Attempts at Poetry

Bursts of colors to midnight skies,
give life to the death of an old friend.

 Vibrant displays of space fires,
welcome a birth in the dark hours.
I breath a prayer for a new year,

       as explosions rented the heavens.

Softly I kiss my friend goodbye,

tucking fond thoughts in my heart.

Then I rush to the breaking dawn,

of yet another memory to make.
 A fresh slate to begin,

        with a silent January promise...

Very Good

Great 'attempt'. I only say it like that, because your 'attempts' make the novices bow their heads with gratitude.

My birthday is in January. I think I'm going to save that to my computer becuase I don't think I can do one better than that is.

Happy New Year to you too.

GLORIOUS!

It sweeps you up as you read it. As if a cyclone got a hold of a broom and swept the porch of one's heart. Nice attempt indeed. You are too modest my friend! Am glad to see you on here. Got your private message will reply to it shortly but I just wanted to read anything new you had and give you a quick reply. My prayers are with you. Keep living, writing, loving and being........ Sincerely, your friend Melissa.

It's good to see you too!

My dear friend Melissa,
You always have a kind word to say to everyone. Your comment alone sounds a good poem to me. Thank you for finding the time to read this! May God bless you always my poetress friend...
