Today I'll see you one last time

for it can never be

in all the world I love you most

but my Father say's no to love and thee

There is an Earl so far away

with a castle on a hill

and I must go and marry him

the honorable Earl of Cahlile

I'll never see my home again

I'll never see my mother

I'll never walk these hills again

I'll never see you, my lover

I'll say farewell to all that's dear

farewell to love and friendship

for I shall leave tomorrow morn

upon a viking warship

never to see your face again

for I shall pass this way no more

never to hold you in my arms

or to walk this sandy shore

Today my youth is gone, is spent

and my bride groom commeth for me

and he will come with all his sailors bold

from across this dark blue sea

He'll come with velvet and jewels so rare

he'll come with silver and gold

he'll come with riches for my hand

with a counternance so bold

And never a word of love speaks he

and never a kindness shown

he's as rugged as these cragey hill's

where the tempest wind has blown
