Precious Little Treasures

Precious little treasures
Preserving memories
Cheap substitutions
For all the things I've seen

Precious little treasures
From places that I've been
Evidence of measures
I'd like to see again

This one is for last year
Reminding me of you
This one is the newest
From when I came unglued
This one I found buried
Underneath someone else's thing
This one I bought sweetly
So you'd remember me

Precious little treasures
Preserving memories
Evidence that measures
And all the things I've seen

This one was the first one
Of its origin I barely recall
This one was a prize won
When for you I chose to fall
These two from that vacation
You said they meant everything
And this one you gave to me
Just before you chose to leave

Precious little treassures
Preserving memories
Evidence that measures
Everything I've seen

These precious little treasures
Of all our memories
Trinkets that have weathered
All that we've come to be

Precious little treasures
Preserving memories
Evidence that measures
Everything I've seen

I'll hold onto these treasures
To keep you close to me
These precious little treasures
Of what we used to be

Awe,

It was uplifting and sad, especially that ending.

It's so hard to throw out those little precious treasures.

It is

Mostly because I'm a pack rat, but partly because I like to hold onto what makes me the me I am with each new day. I decided to go all "sour patch" with this one. First it's sweet, then it's sour :)
