AT Rest

At 06:45 his fight was done,

The battle came to an end.

Heaven may have gained an angel,

While we have lost our friend.

He gave it all he had to give,

Fought through sickness and the pain.

And if presented a second chance,

He'd do it the same again.

Surrendering was option none,

For he swore to continue the fight.

He'd stand up tall and take his blows,

Lashing back with all his might.

His will would never faulter,

Though it proved too much; the test.

So, heaven surely gained an angel,

For our friend, he's now at rest.
