The Crow and the Dove

Billions of years ago, after a bright flash of light, a planet ruled by gods appeared. These gods took the form of birds. For many years the birds lived in peace, they evolved over time. One day they began to feel that something was missing. The leader of the gods, a white dove, arranged a meeting with the rest of the gods.

“My friends, I have called you into this meeting to inform you that the planet is in need of a change. We need a variety of new species to make our planet move on.” , said the white dove. Everyone agreed to this idea, except for one god, a black crow.

“I think you are talking nonsense, bringing new species into this world would cause chaos.”, said the crow, “Birds were meant to rule this planet, if we create species just like that, they would overthrow us one day.”

“My friend, the species we want to create are created for a good purpose, this planet can not live with only birds.”, answered the white dove.

“Have it your own way, but you are going to regret this sooner or later.”, said the crow as he left angrily.

The gods began to create a variety of new species living in the oceans, forests and deserts of the world. At first, everything was going well. The birds were happy with their new creations, but when the new animals came across each other, the whole world became a madhouse.

The white dove decided to arrange a new meeting. All of the birds were worried. “What are we going to do? These animals are tearing each other apart, they are doing worse than we thought”

“You should have listened to me, the world has now become chaos, we should return to the way it used to be.”

“Silence crow, we’ve already gone to far to stop now. What we need is a new species to lead the animal kingdom and return our peace.”

So they created a lion who soon became king of all animals. The peace was soon restored in the world and all animals began to get along. It was all going pretty well but the crow was still very upset no one listened to his plan and he was overruled so there was nothing he could do.

The crow was too proud to accept the truth so he and white dove met to discuss terms.

“You want to create your own species, fine, but then I get to create my own kind of species, too.”, said the crow.

“You know you are free to create anything you want, but I hope you are not doing it for the wrong reasons. I know deep down in your heart you know what is best for the world, so I trust you”

Still wanting to prove everyone wrong, the crow began to plan his own creation. He wanted his species to have domination and intelligence over all animals, so he carried own his plans.

The next morning, the dove went to talk to the crow, wondering how his creation went.

“Well, my fellow crow, did you create something new? How did it go?” asked the white dove.

“As a matter of fact I did,  but there is something really strange about it.”

“And what is that?”

“Well, it can stand on two legs and it has discovered something called fire.”

“What was the purpose of creating this species?”

“I created something that can dominate all  living things, including your little lion”

And the moral of this story is to accept everyone’s opinion and not let pride influence your ideas and decisions.
