Love, Hope, and Magnetic Things

The trickiest part about expressing love to somebody else

isn't removing the emotions from your heart

isn't finding the right words to say in the moment

...isn't even exposing yourself to their response

it's knowing that no matter the conclusion

what's said cannot be unsaid and

the hope associated with that love will evaporate

no matter what

and that energy evolves from potential

to

either invoking a gravitational pull in your direction

or enabling a force field

repelling away like two magnets of the same charge

and when you get older

there's only so much hope left in the repertoire to enable

that's the trickiest part of expressing love to somebody else

"...and when you get older..."

Older, there is space available to dream for other people, but either you did it or you didn't. Too late to start over - I've tried, body rebelled. To actualize dreams, yes, they fade, and new ones emerge to pull you into the future, unless you are old and the future is short. It's like filling voids, you still can later in life, it just takes so much longer to get to the brim ~(:D)-
