And tears turn to ice

standing transfixed beneath the frigid night

oh how peaceful it is in a world of glimmering white

where moonlight and frost weave in silver delicate patterns
black as ink silhouetted trees cast their shadows across the snow
like the fingers of lost lovers searching for some semblance
of yesterday
the only sign of life are the whiffs of my breath that freezes
the minute it hits the winter air
I came to to rest my mind with reverent eyes
to feel the night's aurora soothe my aching soul
those people far below have good intentions
but they really don't understand
when the coyote howls I want to shed this human form and run wild with the pack
when I see an eagle I wish I could fly
dreams start out the same as a river just a trickle of water
that keeps growing till it can't be stopped
If I could tell you a tale ,It wouldn't be just any tale
I would tell you a tale of a true love destined to never be
but you've heard similar tales before
standing transfixed beneath the frigid night
oh how peaceful it is in a world of glimmering white
where moonlight and frost weave in silver delicate patterns
and tears turn to ice
