Devotion For Playboy

Young girl

Mind full of dreams

Moving too fast, but running too slow

In love with a man who can’t love her back

Because his heart belongs to someone else

But her time is his time

And his mouth is fed

But she waits hungrily

For him to change his mind

When he calls she comes running

When he needs her she’s there

Despite the fact that her heart aches

She waits & she loves

Her desires, her longing, her pain, her hurt...

Is real

Her devotion & her promises to him is her survival

His touch soothes her

His smile melts her

His kiss- damn- his kiss

Now, time & gates keep them apart

But her love can’t fade

Because real love lasts forever

And her love, her desires, her longing....

Is real

Young girl

Heart full of patience

Full of pain

But she will wait for his touch

Weeks, months, years, decades

Forever

This is such a painful place to be. You wrap your talent around this place and portray it so skillfully here, the girl's pain and noble devotion are almost palpable. Well written.

I really like this poem...sorry about the heartache that inspired it. I look forward to reading more of your work...
