When I was a little girl

I liked Sugar Daddy Candy.

You know, that sweet caramel sucker on a stick.

  

Used to see how long I could make it last,

holding it in my mouth

sucking lightly, trying not to move.

  

Sometimes I’d open wide, stick out my tongue

so I could lick it in long strokes

from bottom to top.

Pump it in and out, side to side

‘til the caramel foam exploded in my mouth

and dribbled down my chin.

  

I ain’t no little girl now, Daddy.

Give me yo sugah.

I know just what to do.
