In the back of my head

Cauterize my wounds

For I am done bleeding

I can’t continue to spill my heart out for you

A burning sensation

Is all I will be left with

In remembrance of the awful truth

You see I am fortunate to have life

To have a functional mind

And I don’t ask for anything in return

Except compassion from others

From sisters and brothers

But by now you probably have learned

This is a world where we kill

This is a world where we lie

This is a world where we beg and we steal

But when you feel you’ve been wronged

Or you feel your dignity is gone

I’m just there to help you to deal

Please know I’m not complaining

I’m simply stating my dilemma

An issue that lives in the back of my head

Because I’m starting to wonder if it’s crazy

To think that you’ve got it better

Living a life without a care till your dead

This is  really cool poem,

This is  really cool poem, and I'm not saying that like the overused word that most teenagers use it as. It makes me think of a fire in an igloo: the poem has a calm vibe in the way tht it is written but not in the words. Really well done!

This life is the "once upon a time" kind of fairy tale that will sold to the masses 2000 years after it ends
