To a wonderful Brother - Dedication

To my Brother Karli

Oh brother Karli mine, this little song

Is dedicated to you with my love,

My brother,- fortress mighty, kind and strong,

Dependable  in hours sweet or rough.

I cannot show sufficient gratitude,

For all you did with your  so generous heart,

A big heart  that life’s trials  well withstood,

In times together, or in times apart

To everything attending lovingly.

Lo  every plea found  your attentive ear,

With counsel wise in plight or quandary,

That made all problematic issues clear

.

For our departed loved ones with great zeal

You cared for all of them  - none was forgot,

Provided for their souls’ and spirits’  weal,

Be ye a thousand fold repaid by God.!

A loving father full of tenderness,

A loving spouse, oh Karli mine you were,

And are,  and may the good Lord ever bless

And may your sister in the blessing share.!

I made my visit and you yet again,

Bestowed upon me your solicitude,

To do your kindness justice is in vain,

You simply were too wonderfully good.

Oh visit unforgettable  - joy  pure!

Both  walking down  along the memory lane,

But for my sadness too  you found  a cure,

With humor, wit and mirth that vanquished  pain.

You made my days so sweet and luminous,

And traveling far - meant for you  sacrifice,

This effort too the Lord may amply bless,

Dear brother heart,  so  provident and wise.

And from the belfry of Hallein then rang

The  bells  resounding  with strokes  Seventy-Eight,

Three times full twenty six the solemn clang

My hunger for the clang of bells to sate

Oh! I beheld two gently rippling streams

Beneath the widow of your mansion bright,

Their names I have forgot, but  moonlight beams

Did kiss the Kot Bach in the  summer night.

The Lion Fulcrum of the noble house

Of Doppelmayr, -  Karli dear you shine

A warrior brave who  knew life’s joys and woes,

And charms with faithful presence dear Hallein.

Accept this humble paper monument

I pray and trust its value  will accrue,

Superior to bronze, steel and cement,

I dedicate it Karli dear to you!
