Psalm 46 - God is with us

“I pray Psalm 46“- the Governor

Of New Orleans spoke today on TV,

“Disaster struck our counties and their shore,-

Our  residents are brought low on their knee”

Psalm 46 - she spoke - gives   fortitude,

So one can cope with things and carry on

And  overcome  the blows from Kathryn’s knout,-

One feels with all the things that are at one.

The devastation is too great to cope

With such disaster, - just too difficult,

But Oh! Psalm 46 inspires hope

In simple folks and those in scriptures schooled.

So pray Psalm 46 with trust and faith,

Read it repeatedly to let it find

A spot within your soul that houses Grace,

Is guardian of  spirit, soul an mind.

It speaks of confidence and pilgrimage;-

Pray then this Psalm and meditate on it.!-

It tells to whom to cling when high seas rage,

To hear : “I AM” - “Be Comforted”

Psalm 46 - God is with us

God is our shelter and strength

Always ready to help in times of trouble,

So we will not be afraid, even if

the earth is shaken.

and mountains fall into the ocean depth;

even if the seas  roar and rage,

and the hills are shaken by the violence,

There is a river that brings joy

to the city of God,,

to the sacred house of

the Most High,

.

God is in that city

and it will never be destroyed.;

at early dawn He will come to its aid,

Nations are terrified, kingdoms

are shaken;

God thunders and the earth dissolves,

The Lord Almighty is with us;

the God of Jacob is our refuge,

Come and see what the Lord has done,

See what amazing things  He has done on earth,

He stops wars  all over the world.

he breaks bows, destroys spears,

and sets shield on fire,

“Stop fighting,“ He says, “and know

that I am God,

  supreme among the nations,

supreme over the world.”.

The Lord Almighty is with us;

the God of Jacob  is our refuge.

Liz wonderful piece, I've written a couple of my own Re: katrina. It's so heartbreaking to see what all those people have gone through and I too have prayed for them.
