Laughter

Lo! laughter is the greatest medicine

Be it yourself you laugh at or your peer,

It’s good for Dairy Maid and Fairy Queen

A shield superb  against distress and fear!

Confusion can wreak mischief oft enough,

And tedious explanation likewise fail,

But when all else fails, simply laugh out laugh!

Try it! - it’s  free! no payment, neither bond nor bail

Oh sweet hilarity, dependable resort,

When darkly billows threaten and assail,

Then laugh and throw disquiet overboard

And cut off irritations’ vicious tail.

Laugh!  laugh! and all the  world will laugh with you,

Laugh at the stale and trite, the miffed and bored,

And laugh  when you are down and feeling blue

For laughter pleases very much the Lord.
