Why - tell me Why?

Why was I born a Christian mother's fruit?

Within a certain era of our time?

Why am I not  of Oriental blood,

This is my question in the present rhyme.

Why is it that that I came to live

And to be born in present  century.

In a milieu that Lord was pleased to give,

While planning for me in eternity.

Why am I not the daughter of a  king-

Of eras past,- a-hugging reign and throne?

But to musicians born that stick and cling,

To sound produced and quality of tone.

Why was I not born in a Zulu shack,

Or sing Rig Vedas and not Litanies,

Why is it I am white, not brown nor black.

And cannot help diverse  proclivities?

Why is there no one when I grieve and hurt,

While others in abundance, happily

Support each other with consoling words

Of relatives, big kin and family?

Ah since the dawn of time all mankind lived,-

What kind of faith  had they, what kind of creed?

They suffered loved and struggled and they grieved,

How were they comforted in want and  need?

The ancients without concepts - concepts too

Had first to grow, develop and expand,

With concepts absent, - absent is   the Noo-

Condemned to live as  Dullards,-  ignorant.

Lo! in the fullness of our time came Christ,

The question: what  about all those before,

No concepts,  how were they evangelized?

Or did they seek their weal by  myth and lore?

This question I believe is rather grave,

Some live in fullness and some were deprived,

And lived to time-bound ignorance  a slave.

Whhile some in Revelation's glory thrived.

What concepts later had the blind Homer?

Of mankinds final sort and destiny,

And Aeschylus, what God did they declare?-

Their era knew no Christianity.

I ask: were all these innocents at fault

To have no zealous  missionary met,

In order for them to be "called",

And shine as Wisdom's Poet Laureate?.

I guess few pious people ponder this,

The  Stone Man could not be  self-satisfied,

No concepts yet, thus  neither means wherewith

To bask in cups brim full of  true faith's light.

Why, tell me why, this  great discrepancy,

Why time-bound privileged and learned  Elite?-

All mankind strives for immortality,

And joy , -dear churches come - acknowledge it!

Too rare are those that deign to ponder this,-

If God has firmly all existence planned,

Should they not all inherit life and bliss?

With Him alone, the Lord as final end.
