defending persuasions with half truths
reporting it as fact
branding it as news
with a moral high ground
restricting rights with belligerence
calling it belief
for their god’s name

place the authority in the crowds
to keep the voices of dissent down
power hungry and we’re their toys
their intentions to deploy…

black bags and gas masks
feeding us slants and heart attacks
teaching us nothing
but what we should be conditioned to think
revised history to repeat the same mistakes
to keep us safe?
