Lost in Time.

Lost In Time.

Last Sunday as I was sitting on my favourite root of the old oak tree; a small man approached me. The man was dressed in a fine cloth that was not made in this century or at any time in the past. I had with me a bottle of water and as the man approached I could see that he only had eyes for the bottle of water. Taking the bottle in my hand I unscrewed the cap and offered him the bottle. Taking the bottle in his two small hands he took a drink. The water just ran down his throat. Then the man spoke, “Thank you for the water I was very thirsty I do not know how much longer I could have gone without a drink.” The man I thought was a Foreigner his English was good but he had quite an accent.

I asked him where he was from and where he was going. These two questions seemed to cause him some trouble he looked hard at me and said, I do not know. That is, I do not know where I am from or where I am supposed to be going. I am a wanderer in time. A wanderer is someone that sets out from his home to wander through time and through the Universe. That is what I have forgotten. To say the man interested me would be and understatement and I decided to ask him to come home with me. The man with some difficulty got up from the root where he was now sitting and together we walked the short distance to my home.

My home interested him especially the old kitchen range where I do my cooking and where I get my hot water for bathing and washing. I quickly laid the table and made some fresh sandwiches. I had cucumber and watercress also a sandwich or two of corned beef. A pot of hot fresh tea was soon prepared and we sat down to eat. The man watched my every move. I took a cucumber sandwich he did the same. He was obviously hungry and soon we had eaten the sandwiches and drank two cups of hot sweet tea. I showed the man up to the spare bedroom and showed him the bath where he could freshen himself up and went back downstairs to watch the news on the television.

An hour later the man came down the stairs this time he looked refreshed and started asking me questions. The first question nearly floored me. “What is the name of this planet?” I answered we call this planet Earth. “Earth he let the word roll around his tongue a few times. Earth. I decided to get an atlas from my bookshelf and showed him the earth. He was very interested. “So much water I have seen many planets but none so green as this. Later when I had told him practically everything that I knew about the earth. I sent him off to the spare room to sleep I had plans for him on the coming day.

I dropped off to sleep and had some strange dreams. One dream was that I too was a wanderer in time. I went from one planet to another through many different dimensions. There were no boundaries in my dream and I must say I liked the idea of being able to travel through time and space. As I awoke I remembered my guest and after washing, shaving and dressing myself I went down to the kitchen to make breakfast. The man came down he too had washed and looked surprisingly fresh for a man that had slept in a strange bed in a strange house. We ate the cooked breakfast and after I had washed and put away the breakfast dishes I asked the man to come with me to meet Her Majesty Queen Feeanna, Queen of all the Fairies. The day was bright and sunny and we enjoyed the fresh clean air of Fairyland.

Her Majesty was not at all surprised at seeing the pair of us. “Good Morning Mr. Shaw, Good morning to you Stranger. Taking from her sleeve her magic wand she waved it at the stranger and he started speaking, “ My name is Unirocen. I am a time and space traveller. My home is in Andromeda. I saw this planet from outer space the blueness fascinated me and I was not very careful, as I landed not far from where I saw the man who gave me to drink and then took me home to his house. I landed hard with my head against a tree trunk and I must have lost my memory. You Your Majesty have brought it all back. I can now see this planet Earth with other eyes thanks to Mr. Shaw. Bowing to Her Majesty the stranger Unirocen shook hands with me and vanished from our sight. I just caught the words “Thank you,” as he disappeared on his journey through space and time.

Her Majesty and I spoke for a while and she told me that there are many that travel through space and time they are the new adventurers of this modern day and age. Have a good day Bless you all from Bern.
