A New Hairdresser.

A New Hairdresser.

Excitement is running high here in Fairyland. A Leprechaun has built a hairdressers shop. Fairies always cut their own hair but to have a trained hairdresser was something completely new. At the opening ceremony the Hairdresser had engaged the Toad Orchestra to play suitable music. It was the music that told me that something new was going to happen in Fairyland. I walked to where the music was playing and saw the new Hairdressers shop. There was quite a queue waiting to have their haircut or to have a new hairstyle. The toad orchestra played a fanfare and the door to the new hairdressing saloon opened and I got another surprise. My old Leprechaun friend Shamus was the new hairdresser.

Greeting Shamus I was told that if I wanted my hair cut or styled I would have to join the queue. I smiled and told shamus that I would come for a haircut later in the week when things had settled down. Looking at the long queue I thought to myself there would be many more waiting to have their hair cut that will have to come back on some other day. As I stood watching Fairy after Fairy entered the hairdressers and after a few minutes came out with all kinds of Hairstyles. Something that had never been seen before in fairyland were the different coloured hair that the Fairies were now showing before all Fairies had jet black hair now there were redheads some with many coloured hairstyles, Some even had, had their hair dyed in three or four different colours.

I now had to look twice before I could recognise a fairy with the new hairstyles and colours. I wondered what Her Majesty would say when she saw what has happened in Fairyland. Later on in the evening Shamus came to the house and told me of his new venture in Fairyland. He not only cut hair but also talked most of the Fairies into having their hair dyed in different colours. Shamus was full of his new hairdressing shop and told me of his plans to open another shop for manicuring the fairies nails. I began to wonder what would happen next in my Fairyland.

The nail shop was a huge success and now the Fairies are running around not only with coloured hairstyles but also with very long pointed coloured nails. Work was not neglected but what with the long pointed nails many things went wrong. Flowers with two heads appeared others were just green stems without a flower in fact Fairyland began to look like a very shoddy garden. I kept myself to myself if this is what the Fairies want then who am I to disagree with them.

Her Majesty came back from her trip to Germany where she had been visiting the Fairies in the German Fairylands. Her Majesty strolled through Fairyland. She saw the different hairstyles and the long pointed nails. She had a word with Shamus and soon there was another beauty shop in Fairyland not for the fairies but for the animals the birds went to have their beaks trimmed and their claws cut. Those animals with fur were offered shampoos and special combing and brushing. The birds with their feathers were given a special feather treatment. Soon the birds and animals in Fairyland looked like the Fairies many had different coloured feathers some even had long claws similar to the Fairies Nails.

I myself kept well away from fairyland I did not like the new styles not only the fairies looked strange but also the animals. I went to see Her Majesty Queen Feeanna. We had a long talk and it was decided that all of the Fairies and the Animals would be turned back to what they were before Shamus opened his hairdressers and his nail and beauty shops. The shops would disappear and Shamus with the Fairies and animals would completely forget what had happened here in Fairyland and all would go back to what it was before Shamus. I now go every day into Fairyland and I am happy to say the Fairies are now as they were and the animals and birds have all forgotten what happened. Bern.
