Good Morning, Goodbye

I don't need to justify to you

The reasons that I want this

You already know every word

I'd sell to you anyway

We spread our fingers wide

And lock them like puzzle pieces

Our shared gaze gives up everything

We've tried to hush for so long

I don't want to fight this anymore

It's clear to me where we are

And even when we're not

We know we'll  never be very far

This medicated dance for two

Could lose the past until now

But if we don't give it our all

We'd never know the sting of loss

So we push the doubt away

At least for now, the night's end near

My love, by love we'll make this work

I swear to you at least for now

And as the sun breaks free

From the tether our night made last

I leave you asleep with a kiss

Because our now is now our past

Author's Notes/Comments:

I'm not completely sold on the title. But for now, it works. I'll put it to music later and see how it turns out.

I Like This Poetry

I wonder why - The title is different - and ear catching. Uniqueness is the value - to avoid the cliches and the mundane - great writing, this - enjoyed too muchly :D
