The Raven

As black as the night sky gets
The world kisses goodnight with cold hard lips
The virgin lies still, exposed to sin
The serpent tongue reaches, corruption begins
Stealing what’s left of a raped innocence
Teaching the beautiful doubt of defiance
(The Raven watches with cold black eyes
ignoring that her truth is now filled with lies)
This sacrifice for a feeling well earned
But taken away, one bridge has been burned
A path once forbidden is now exposed
A path she hoped to never go
(The Raven still coldly stares
with never a second thought of what could be fair)
Her path to hell and no one cares
She is only seen through empty glares
But no one cares for the shallow whore
No one knows what has poisoned her core
A faith of love now replaced by hate
(The Raven watches, becoming irate)
She prays for help from her ocean of hell
But her drowning cries reach no prevail
This creature of hate taught by love
While lost faith skies scream from above
(The Raven now grins insane
enjoying her loss of his game)
She’s pushed too far and can’t turn back
A heart once pure now scarred in black
(Her wraith now suffering the Raven’s wrath)
Her footprints erased from the lonely path
(The Raven remains, enjoying his prize
watching ignorant beings believing his lies
Then flies to find another pure soul
Waiting to see how low the humans will go)
